Softshare Wins Early SOAP Framework Adopter AwardSoftshare's successful participation in the ACORD SOAP Messaging Pilot earns the company recognition for its cutting-edge support of new XML-based business frameworks Santa Barbara, CA—May 24, 2004— Softshare Inc., a provider of e-commerce products and services, announced today that it was awarded the ACORD 2004 Early SOAP Framework Adopter Award for its successful participation in the ACORD SOAP Messaging pilot. Softshare is accepting the award at the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum being held in Las Vegas today and tomorrow. In the ACORD SOAP Messaging Pilot, Softshare exchanged ACORD business documents over HTTP using SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) with Attachments. The ACORD SOAP messaging framework is a specification that allows the transport of business documents, including attachments, throughout the insurance industry with real-time verification of receipt. Softshare used its latest generation of e-commerce products, Softshare ECS 4.0 and Softshare Delta® 4.0 to build, test and deploy the pilot in a minimal amount of time, without any custom Java or .Net code. In this out-of-the-box, extensible solution, Softshare ECS is the communications platform and Delta is the content mapper. With the 4.0 release of these products, Softshare has moved its popular EDI and XML data integration suite into the domain of being a rapid-development environment for Web Services. "Softshare has shown its leadership and commitment to the adoption of standards within the industry," said Denise Garth, Vice President of ACORD Membership and Development. "Softshare is setting an example for the rest of the industry that we hope inspires others to join ACORD and begin their work with data standards."
