Softshare Introduces Bar Code eXpress™ for Effortless Integration of EDI and Bar Code Technology

SANTA BARBARA, CA. – August 7, 1998 – Softshare, a leader in electronic data interchange solutions, announced today the immediate availability of Bar Code eXpress. As an add-on component to Softshare’s premier EDI application, Softshare Vista®, Bar Code eXpress allows users to create, transmit and print bar code information directly from Vista.

Bar Code eXpress supports many different bar code symbologies including UCC/EAN, Code 128, Code 39, and Interleaved 2 of 5. Using these underlying symbologies, Bar Code eXpress can print a wide variety of bar code labels. Also, as a fully integrated component of Softshare Vista, Bar Code eXpress will automatically incorporate bar code information into related EDI documents such as advance ship notices. This tight integration of EDI and bar code technology saves users the time and possible error associated with manual re-keying of bar code information. Bar Code eXpress is compatible with leading bar code printers as well as standard laser printers.
